• the eggbut gag has fixed rings with two eyelets each, through which the cheek pieces run
• this bit encourages the horse to straighten up
• due to the fixed rings, the effect is stronger than with the loose ring bit
• the pressure acts on the poll and the corners of the mouth
• the bridle can be used with one rein or two reins
• as a rule, two reins are used
• one rein is attached to the large ring and the other to the ring of the cheekpiece
• in this way, the rider can better control the rearing action
• the normal cheekpiece of the bridle is replaced by the pull-on cheekpiece in this bit

• the material develops a sweet-tasting surface rust on contact with moisture
• this naturally stimulates the horse’s saliva production and increases the acceptance of the bit
