Sprenger Bemelmans Riding Curb Bit Sensogan with Short Shanks
- high, wide tongue clearance, curved and inclined forwards, no palate pressure

- neck pressure is comparatively low due to the short lever, but occurs more quickly, so a sensitive rider’s hand is required
Note: The horse’s mouth tends to be somewhat narrower where the curb bit is buckled in. It is therefore recommended that the curb bit is 1⁄2 to 1 cm smaller than the snaffle bit. It is important that the sides of the curb bit are close to the corners of the mouth. If there is too much play between the jaw angle and the side part, the curb bit can jam or even tilt. The curb chain should be buckled in such a way that an angle of around 30 to 45 degrees is possible between the horse’s mouth and the lower part of the bit.
