Description
Stübben Steeltec Sweet Copper Loose Ring Bit Double Broken
- the loose ring bit is a classic, soft-acting double-broken bit with a mouthpiece made of sweet copper, which ensures more comfort, acceptance and natural chewing behavior
- the freely movable rings allow the horse to position the bit independently and thus find a soft contact
- any bit can cause pain if it is used roughly or improperly
- the wrong size can also be painful for the horse
Material
- mouthpiece: 90 % sweet copper, 7 % zinc, 4 % iron and aluminum (hardened)
- rings: stainless steel
- ring diameter: 70 mm
- mouthpiece: double broken
Care instructions
- clean saliva residue under running water after every ride
- dry with a towel
Size guide
- an already well-fitting bit can be used as a reference for choosing the size
- alternatively, the width of the horse’s mouth can be measured, e.g. with a bit ruler or a soft string
- the measurement is taken at the point in the mouth where the bit will later be positioned
- the ends are marked and then the distance is measured
- the bit width should be chosen so that the rings are just outside or slightly above the corners of the mouth
- a bit that is too narrow can exert pressure
- a bit that is too wide can move back and forth sideways
- in the case of bits with freely movable rings, there should be approx. 1 cm clearance on one side so that the rings can turn freely without pinching the lips
