Description
Stübben Steeltec Loose Ring Bit Quick Contact Double Broken
- the quick contact loose ring bit (double broken) was developed for a faster reaction to the aids of a single rein
- the freely movable rings allow the bit to move freely and ensure a neutral position in the horse’s mouth, while the sweet copper mouthpiece promotes acceptance, salivation and active chewing
- any bit can cause pain if used roughly or improperly
- the wrong size can also be painful for the horse
Material
- 90 % Sweet Copper, 7 % iron and aluminum (hardened)
- rings: stainless steel
- bit thickness: 16 mm
- ring size: 70 mm
- mouthpiece: double broken
Care instructions
- clean saliva residue under running water after every ride
- dry with a towel
Size guide
- an already well-fitting bit can be used as a reference for the size selection
- alternatively, the width of the horse’s mouth can be measured (e.g. with a bit ruler or soft string)
- the string or ruler is placed at the point in the mouth where the bit will later be positioned
- the ends are marked and the distance is then measured
- the width of the bit should be chosen so that the rings are just outside or slightly above the corners of the mouth
- a bit that is too narrow can cause pressure points
- a bit that is too wide can move sideways and slip
- in the case of bits with freely movable rings, there should be approx. 1 cm clearance on one side so that the rings can turn freely without pinching the lips
