• the full cheek gag comprises 2 vertical shanks on each fixed ring
• there is a little more lateral pressure (against the cheek) by these two tightenings and they therefore serve as steering aids
• the ring of the full cheek gag is smaller than that of the standard full cheek bit, resulting in less leverage
• the upper shanks of these full cheek gags are bent slightly outwards so that they do not get under the noseband
